SpotFillr Text Alerts

How our text messaging program works, and how to start or stop receiving messages.

About this program

SpotFillr sends text alerts to members of sports and music clubs when a private lesson slot opens up because of a cancellation. Each alert names the coach with the opening, the date and time, and includes a link to claim that slot.

Messages are sent only to people who are members of a participating club and who have opted in themselves and verified their mobile number. SpotFillr does not send marketing or promotional messages.

Message frequency

Messages are sent only when a lesson is canceled at your club, so frequency varies. Most members receive fewer than 10 messages per month.

How to opt in

  1. Your club adds you to its roster. You begin receiving lesson-opening alerts by email only. No text messages are sent at this stage.
  2. Every alert email contains a link reading "Manage your alert preferences." That link opens your personal preferences page.
  3. On that page you enter your mobile number and check the consent box shown below. The box is unchecked by default and is required.
  4. We text you a one-time verification code. You enter that code to confirm the number is yours. Only then are text alerts enabled, and the date and method of your consent are recorded.

How to stop messages

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. You can also turn text alerts off from your preferences page, or ask your coach to turn them off for you. Turning off text alerts does not affect email alerts.
